Saeed Al-Owairan is a retired Saudi Arabian footballer, born on August 19, 1967, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is known for scoring a famous solo goal for Saudi Arabia in the 1994 FIFA World Cup. Al-Owairan started his professional football career with Al-Shabab in 1986 and played for several Saudi Arabian clubs, including Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, and Al-Ittihad.
He represented the Saudi Arabian national football team for ten years, scoring a total of 20 goals in 75 matches. Saeed Al-Owairan played a crucial role in Saudi Arabia's 1988 and 1996 AFC Asian Cup triumphs and also participated in three FIFA World Cups – in 1990, 1994, and 1998.
Apart from his abilities on the field, Al-Owairan is also known for his philanthropic works. He established the Saeed Al-Owairan Children's Hospital in Riyadh, which provides free medical care to children from low-income families. He is regarded as one of the greatest footballers to have hailed from Saudi Arabia.
